The test fit of everything
I have for the panel went well. The enunciator light holes needed a little
file work to fit properly. Also the XLR power jack for the ANR headset
needed tweaking too. Other than that everything fit like a glove. Now,
how much time and aggravation did it save me doing it this way? Plenty!
I tied to put a bend in the panel to stiffen it up, but the *' brake couldn't
bend it. I had to find someone with a hydraulic press brake. I found one
and the owner did it for free so he is getting some more business from
me
As long as it was being cut
out I had my reserved N-number cut through the panel.
I intend to back light this with a strip of electro- luminescent light
tape( More about that later). My numbers just happen to work out with
no hole dropouts, like an O would give you. I used temporary brass screws
for display at our fall flymarket at the Nashua Airport.
The panel in zinc chromate
primer fitted to the fuselage.
