This is what your distributor
should look like now. The stock point cover will not fit with this set
up. Install the Molex connectors per the instructions in the XR700 kit.
Screw on the Distributor cap
and your almost finished. Gather the rest of the ignition parts. Mount
the coils, coil switcher and ignition modules to your firewall.

I picked the Bosch Blue coils
because I have used them before in VWs with out a problem and they have
internal ballast resistance. No ugly sticks next to the coils!
If you use the blue coils get the ones made in Germany or Brazil, pass
on the ones from Mexico.
I still do not have my firewall
on the plane yet so the rest is from my head on installation.

Route the sensor wires to
the distributor. Ty-wrap them together as you would any other wires to
the engine. The ignition modules have three wires to hook up. The red
goes to the coil + and connects back to a switch in the instrument panel.
The yellow goes to the coil - . Black is a dedicated ground. You can use
two individual switches (IGN 1/ IGN 2) or a (ON/OFF/ON) switch. Any sensor,
coil, module, or electrical wire that fails: just hit the switch for the
other ignition.

Make up your coil wires from
the extra two cylinder wires in an eight cylinder plug wire kit. They
go to the two outside terminals of the coil switcher. Use the real coil
wire to go from the center terminal of the switcher to the center terminal
of the distributor. Make up the rest of the plug wires for the rest of
the cylinders.
