Here is the package tray and
turtledeck after the canopy was cut off and removed.
I will sand the excess foam
away and put a layer of fiberglass on the inside and a few extra layers
at the front edge for a make shift roll bar. Not that any one of us need
it!

I leveled the fuselage again,
both for and aft, and side to side. We supported the motor mount with
some cider blocks until I can complete the nose gear. Then we mounted
the Corvair Engine and warp drive prop.

My friend Moe helped me mount
the engine. So I let him sit inside. He made more airplane noises than
I did! Moe hopes to see N323XL finished before he returns to Egypt. The
start of another 5 month building spurt begins. I hope to have a Webcam
setup in the garage in the next few weeks. Then anyone on the net can
see me work on the bird. The ethernet cable is run from my house to the
garage. The extra computer will be set up soon. Keep checking back!

Back to building! I want the
2002 Gathering at Red Oak, Iowa to have the most finished KR's in attendance.
I will have mine there come hell or high water!
