Look at all that excess casting
flash on the stock corvair cylinders. These are the .030" cylinders
from Clark's Corvairs. I bought
the 30 over cylinders to match the new set of forged pistons I got with
one of the engine cores.

I used my Rotozip
tool with the zipmate attachment and metal cutting blade. I ran it between
the cylinder fins. They cleaned up very well and quick too.
Be careful how deep you go.
You don't want to make a new exhaust hole in the side of your new cylinders!

I washed the cylinders with
lots of soap and hot water. They will start rusting within minutes of
letting them dry. I wiped them down with a clean rag and painted them,
The cylinders after painting
with a ceramic 1200 degree paint and baked in the oven. Oil immediately
after pulling from the oven to protect them from rusting. Put them in
a plastic bag until you are ready for assembly.
